Call for Papers 

 

The Somaliland Journal of African Studies (SJAS) seeks to shed light onto the political landscape of Africa – material, immaterial, and otherwise. It looks to publish original academic research into political regimes, modes of government, configurations of extraction and production, political imaginaries, and the sociocultural inflections of these phenomena. Submissions are accepted, hence, from a broad spectrum of disciplines, spanning from philosophy, history, political science, and international relations, to sociology and anthropology.

 

The Editorial Board of the SJAS is now receiving articles for its second issue due for publication on May 2015.

 

Guidelines for authors:

  • Submissions should be made exclusively to SJAS

 

  • ‘English is the working language of the journal. As such, the Editorial

    Board will only consider articles fully written in English;

 

  • Articles should not exceed 7000 words, including footnotes, images

    and references. Book reviews should not exceed 2500 words;

 

  • Every article should contain an abstract of 250 words maximum and 5

    keywords;

 

  • Articles should be sent in Microsoft Word (or equivalent) format;

 

  • SJAS follows the 16th edition of the Chicago Manual of Style. All

    submissions must follow the same style.

 

Authors are required to send their submissions together with an abstract (up to 300 words), five keywords and a short, third-person biography (up to 100 words) to the journal’s e-mail address at: sjas.ipcs@gmail.com.

 

The deadline is set to April 20th.
