The Somaliland Journal of African Studies (SJAS) aims at covering an academic research area in clear expansion. The objective of the journal is to shed a light into the political landscape of Africa, its political regimes, the current democratic situation and the respect for human rights. Article proposals from other areas and disciplines revolving around the areas of political science and international relations (history, philosophy and other social sciences) will also be accepted.
The Editors of SJAS is responsible for the ordinary maintenance of the journal, the management of the reviewing process, contacting the authors, and to edit the manuscripts of the authors in accordance with the journal’s style when needed. The Editorial Board is open to students from all cycles and fields, but preferably to undergraduate and graduate students at MA level. Students from African universities, and particularly from the University of Hargeisa will be given priority, provided they fulfil the necessary requirements for the position. The Editorial Board will be composed of no more than no less than 5 and no more than 10. The selected candidates will have a two-year mandate starting from the date of their appointment.
There is no deadline: applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
